TAKE A TOUR

Meet the Director

Nate Richards has a passion for music, and an enthusiasm for teaching. His greatest enjoyment is watching a student achieve a musical goal that he or she had never thought possible. The joy of a student playing a song for the first time, the light bulb going on and their eyes lighting up (kids AND adults) - that's what it's all about!

Nate is a modern band, piano, and general music teacher at Garnet Valley Middle School. He graduated with honors from West Chester University School of Music with an undergraduate double-major degree in music education and music composition/theory, with a minor in classical guitar performance. Nate also completed a master’s degree from WCU in music performance.

Nate and Maggie lead worship at church serving the Celebrate Recovery ministry. Together, they find joy in using their instrumental (Nate) and vocal (Maggie) talents to help others connect with God in their spiritual walk.

"Absolutely the best thing that ever happened to my son. Bought him his first guitar and brought him to Richards Rock Academy when he turned 11. He's 15 now and has developed a passion for music. He participates in Rock Academy and has played with his band at The Troc, Word Cafe, The Bitter End, JC Dobbs (RIP), and many other places. The teachers at RRA (Nate, Eric, Zach, etc.) are so dedicated to their students. Matt has had the opportunity to learn guitar, music theory, different guitar techniques from seasoned professionals.

Parent - Delco, PA

My three children wanted to play different instruments and it was very easy for us to choose a time and date to fit our busy schedule. The teachers have always been very positive and encouraging to all of my children which is very important to me.
